I use Surfco’s Proteck X-FOIL fins in all my boards from my 5’8 shortboard all the way to my 9’2 noserider. The Proteck X-FOIL fins work as well as any fin out there on the market yet provide unparalleled protection against dangerous fin cuts. There have been a number of times when I’ve been hit by my own fins and had it not been for the Proteck’s unique softer edge, I would have made a trip to the emergency room for sure. These fins work so well that you won’t even notice you have different fins in your board. I’ve even let my friends try these fins with ability levels from beginners to pro surfers and all have raved at how well the fins performed. They also work extremely well in my longboard...I use the Powerflex fin on a smaller days for more forgiving turns and the thing I like about the longboard fins is you can mix and match different flexes in both your center fin and side fins.
