 My name is Hanna, I'm 15 years old and my Diamond Tip prevented me from having a very severe injury. I was paddling out at Cardiff State Beach in Cardiff, Ca. on a Sunday afternoon when it happened. The waves were chest to head high that day. A wall of white water was coming towards me so I decided to get off my surfboard (a 6'0 pointed nose Inner Rhythm) and hold the nose down to go through.
When I was going under, my board got ripped away from me. I surfaced with my mouth open getting my breath when my board came shooting towards me nose first into my mouth. I could tell it wasn't good. I was gagging and spitting up blood. I immediately went into shore to have it looked at.
 My dad, a fire department paramedic, looked at it and discovered there was a piece of tissue missing and bruising to the upper soft palette. For 2 days after the incident, I could barely swallow and had trouble eating. What could have been a very severe injury was prevented by my Diamond Tip. Both my boards have Diamond Tips and Pro Teck fins and now I know why.
