first of all i would like to say thank you to surfco hawaii for making pro teck fins available us. that being said, onto my story. i was out on one of my native beaches on isle of plams, south carolina. i was out in about waist deep water, just past the sand bar where the waves were breaking. that day was a small day but there were still some ankle biters to be ridden. as i stood up, somehow my foot slipped off the back of the board and slid down the fin. i paddled over to the sandbar and crawled up onto it to see what had happened. i thought i had just whacked my foot pretty badly but it turned out that the fin had actually sliced between my foot and, had more force been applied, could have taken off my toe. well i paddled back in with my buddy, and walked back to the house. i went to the emergency room and had to get 14 stitches including 4 internal ones. as soon as this happened my friend went to the local surf shop and got some pro teck fins. you may not realize it until it happens, but those standard fcs fins are wicked sharp. once again thank you, and i hope this story inspires others to invest in pro teck fins. trust me... spending fifty bucks on a new set of fins is much better than having to spend a ridiculous fife hundred some odd dollars for the hospital bill..
